Drug Diversion

What is Drug Diversion?

Drug Diversion is a program designed by the Prosecutor’s Office for defendants who have pending felony cases that are related to substance use. This program is intensive and treatment-based. Any defendant who is accepted into the program will be required to attend and participate in substance use treatment, weekly meetings with their Probation Officer, submit to frequent drug screens, and complete community service hours. Once a defendant successfully completes drug diversion, the Prosecutor is able to file a motion to dismiss the pending case.

Who qualifies for Drug Diversion?

Ultimately, the Prosecutor has to approve your participation in Drug Diversion. If you are interested, speaking to your attorney about getting scheduled for orientation is important. During your orientation, you will meet with a Probation Officer to review the program requirements.
